Site: Almonacid de Zorita, Guadalajara
Spain's first commercial nuclear power reactor, a small single-loop Westinghouse PWR near Almonacid de Zorita, commonly known as Zorita. It went critical in June 1968 and operated for nearly four decades until its permanent shutdown on 30 April 2006. Its decommissioning was one of the first full dismantlements of a Spanish reactor.
